Description

Antique George 111 Oak Bureau and dating from around 1780. It has a brass escutcheon and cross banded edge to the fall front which opens to reveal a lovely interior with a small carved door to the centre with original lock and working key and which has two secret drawers. To each side it has a carved frieze to the top above open pigeon holes and four small drawers and a green baise writing surface. The base has an unusual and attractive configuration of four small drawers over two long drawers all of which are oak lined with cross banded edges and original brass handles. It stands on bracket feet.
MEASURES: 40" HIGH X 28" HIGH TO WRITING SURFACE X 20" DEEP X 37" WIDE
In very good condition with a lovely deep colour and patination to the oak oozing all the charm and character of the period.
