ANTIQUE EARLY 19TH CENTURY SPANISH CARVED WALNUT ARMCHAIR C1830

Description

Antique Early 19th Century Spanish Carved Walnut Armchair and dating from around 1830. Constructed from solid walnut it has a high upholstered back panel surrounded by carved acanthus leaf and with ring turned side supports with carved patera and turned finial to the top joined by a carved acanthus leaf top rail. It has beautifully outswept and shaped armrests with carved acanthus leaf to the scrolled hand rests and rests on scrolled supports with squared patera leading to a scrolled leg with a scrolled Spanish foot and joined by a carved acanthus leaf stretcher and ring turned 'h' stretcher to the sides. It has a deep upholstered stuff over seat.
Measures: 42" high x seat height 18" x 22" deep x 24" wide

A Superb Early 19th Century Walnut Armchair and in very good original condition with a lovely deep colour and patination and oozing all the charm and character of the period. There is some very slight wear to one of the upholstered arm pads but this in no way detracts from the beauty of this chair. Our furniture is cleaned and polished using traditional waxing methods.
