Description

Antique 18TH Century Period Oak & Mahogany Bureau Bookcase and dating from around the time of George 111 c 1780. Constructed from quality oak it has a cornice top with mahogany crossbanded frieze above two panelled doors with mahogany crossbanded edges and ebony cock beads and with working key. Internally there is a central divide with four adjustable shelves. The base with brass escutcheon to the fall front which opens to reveal a mahogany interior with a small central door above a small drawer and flanked on either side with pigeon holes with shaped frieze above and four small drawers. It has a green leather embossed skiver on good condition, the desk sits above four long graduating drawers all of which are pine lined with brass handles and with sliding lowers to each side of the top drawer. It is raised on bracket feet and the top removes from the base for ease of transporting.
MEASURES: 85� HIGH X 43.5� TO TOP OF BASE X 31� DESK HEIGHT X 20� DEEP X 42.5� WIDE and internal depth to the top 9.5�
