Description

Antique French Empire Painted Salon Suite and dating from around 1900. ConstRucted with a solid and original painted wood frame it consists of a sofa and two chairs. The sofa has a squared and curved deeply upholstered back rest set within a carved and reeded frame leading to upholstered and beautifully scrolled armrests on a spiral support with gold painted carved tulip leaf . It has a deep stuff over seat of serpentine shape with carved and reeded skirt with carved patera to each end. It is raised on turned and reeded legs.
Each identical chair mirrors the sofa in design.
The suite is upholstered in a quality satin damask and the original paint and gold work is in very good condition.
