ANTIQUE GEORGE 1ST COUNTRY OAK COFFER CHEST AND DATING FROM AORUND 1720. OF MEDIUM SIZE AND WITH A LOVELY ORIGINAL PLANK TOP WITH MOULDED EDGE WITH FIVE PANELS TO THE FRONT AND WITH PANELLED SIDES STANDING ON STILE FEET. IT IS HAND AND PEG JOINED.
IN VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH A LOVELY DEEP COLOUR AND PATINATION TO THE OAK SHOWING BOTH THE DARK AND LIGHT GRAIN OOZING THE CHARM AND CHARACTER OF THE EARLY GEORGIAN COUNTRY OAK PERIOD.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PLANKS TO THE TOP ARE VERY SLIGHTLY WARPED HOWEVER IT IS IN SUCH A WAY AS IT ADDS TO THE OVERALL CHARM AND AUTHENTICITY OF THE PIECE.
